Questionhi i have a client that has had gel nails for a few years now.8 hours after her infill the area around her nails became very itchy.the next morning the skin was dry and flakey.i have seen her today for her infills, i applied vasoline around her cuticles and made sure none of the products touched the skin. unfortunately the same thing has happened my client doesn't want to remove the gel nails! im trying to understand why she is having this reaction, would it be best to remove the gel nails? any info would be grateful, thankyou
AnswerHi Sarah
Im sorry to hear about your client.
This is definately irritation and it sounds like it is coming from the gel.
If you have as you said, been doing this client for a while and you havent changed anything, it is either an allergic reaction, which can happen after prolonged use; or it may be something small that you are doing.
For instance, all dust from filing might need to be washed off before applying enamel or oil, ie b4 the client leaves the salon.
This dust is uncured product and can be responsible for irritation.
Have you changed you products, however insignificant eg cuticle remover or nail enamel remover?
Sometimes its the small things
let me know how you get on
