Best Makeup & Skincare for Mature Skin: Avon & Coverage Tips

Question
I read the article on drug store verses department store makeup.  I am asking if you have ever used Avon and if so is it any good.  How about skin care products.  I need heavy coverage because of scarring (purple discoloration).  I am 51 years old and have light lines under my eyes, and forhead.  I have deeper lines at the corners of my lower lip and chin.  I have uneven coloring with rosacea and broken veins on my chin and nose.  I don't know where to begin.  Is there anything on the market that in non perscription that could give me a peel or help refine my skins texture. I am on a very tight budget so I need to be as careful as possible and put the money where it will do the most good.  Thanks Lisa

Answer
Hello Lisa :)

Your question is a very good one. I have researched for years the different products from drug stores, department stores, what you see on TV and of course online ads. I have tried MANY products for over 20 years now. When something works, I stick to it.
I tell all my clients that all skins are different and what may work for me may not work for you.
That being said, I will do my best to help you. I will need to ask a few questions please.
What products are you using now? What is your diet comprised of and very important are you drinking 6-8 glasses of water daily? Taking a multivitamin? Are you on any medications? Do you smoke? Are you under stress?

In the meantime, if you aren't allergic to milk, here is a home remedy I use and have some of my clients with rosacea use. Take a cup of milk, dip a cottonball and wet your face with milk. The lactaid acid from the milk is a natural soft exfoliant which all skins need and it also leaves it feeling soft :)

I look forward to your reply to analyze your skin further. If you can attach a picture of you - that could help - it's ok if you can't - I'll do my very best to help you.

Until then, hope you have a happy healthy day

Warmly,
Elaine  :)
