QuestionQUESTION: Hi Caroline. I use veet's hot wax to wax and i started waxing the bikini area a couple of months ago. So far everything's great but because my hair including corporal hair grows really really quick i have to wax a little bit more often than normal people do...i would like to know if waxing is bad for the skin or if it can bring any kind of issues to my skin in the future.. if so what kind of issues? specifically to the skin in the lady part area thanks>!
ANSWER: Hello Yiliana,
Waxing isn't bad for your skin as long as you do it properly. You have to make sure that you use a good quality wax, which is going to pull the hairs and not break them, and to use it at a safe temperature.
Then, you always need to disinfect the waxed area and then apply some soothing and healing moisturizer like Shea butter lotions, especially on the bikini area where the skin is so delicate. With this in mind, waxing is the best option for hair removal and to look great!

QUESTION: Hi Caroline thank you so much for your fast reply and im sorry to bother you again but how woul you disinfect a waxed area? and i always apply moisturizer after waxing but i dont apply anything on the bikini area after waxing im not sure what to apply can i apply the usual moisturizer i use for my other body parts? cause i've never seen in the market any kind of moisturizer that is special for that area . Thanks
AnswerHello Yiliana,
You absolutely do not bother me: it's a real pleasure to help you!
You are asking important questions because waxing can sometimes turn really ugly. I had a friend in high school and she was getting waxing regularly, like me. But her esthetician wasn't disinfecting after waxing. She had one hair follicle infected and had to have surgery to remove the abscess... I don't want anyone to have to go through this, so I'm really happy to help you!
You can use diluted alcohol (from a pharmacy) to disinfect (it might sting, but it's efficient).
I personally use this product:

It's a special anti-acne solution, but it's very anti-bacterial. Try to find something like this or just apply a dilution of good quality Lavender essential oil or Tea Tree oil (I prefer Lavender).
Yes, you can apply your usual moisturizer as long as it's natural (no chemicals there!), but I would highly recommend to use pure Shea butter like this:

This will be the best if you find it in unrefined and organic quality.
PS: if you use essential oils to disinfect, please make sure that they are well diluted in water (actually, Lavender floral water would be preferable) and will NEVER spread to your sexual area as they will harshly burn.
