Should I Get Highlights? Advice for Teenagers with Brown Hair

Hello, I'm wondering whether or not to get highlights in my hair, I'm 16, I've got (dark-)brown hair, and I've never done anything like this before!

So, should I do it? I'd like to have it similar to the hair in these pictures:

Hi Glenn,

I have quite a few male clients who color their hair and I think what you have chosen would work great. It's an easy process. I wouldn't do it at home. Go to a salon. You probably will only get hilights in the longest part of your hair and it will be gone in a cut or two but it's a great look for summer. I say go for it.
