QuestionI've been heavily bleach highligthing my hair for years on my medium brown hair about level 5. For years I have been wanting to go back to my natural hair color but as soon as the dark roots begin to come in I go back to the highlights.
This time I put in a permanent deposit only color in dark golden blonde (robert craig haircolor) The first coat faded but the 2nd stayed even though it was sort of a muddy light golden/brown color. I still want to go a bit darker and get rid of the 'flat muddy' looking color. I just want a rich medium or light brown with NO red.
I've since tried many many semi permanent colors over it in levels 4-5-6 in neutrals and ashes and it just looks more muddy with red or purplish colors.(all on test strands) The same results with permanent colors tested.
I live in a very small town and do not have faith in the hairstylist here as one put blackish-brown lowlights in my hair after I requested light brown.
What are my options?
AnswerMaybe you can try some box dyes since they have a variety of colors. The most basic suggestion i could say is to bleach your hair with a 20 vol. then use a box dye. I also hate that muddy color, ickkk.
Bleach your hair once your roots get about an inch.
Anything i missed? Sorry, ask/tell me again.
