Sauna & Eyelashes: Risks and Recommendations

Wearing fake eyelashes in the sauna is generally not recommended due to several reasons:

* Heat and Steam: The high heat and steam in a sauna can weaken the adhesive bond of the eyelash glue. This can cause the eyelashes to lift, shift, or even fall off.

* Potential Damage to Natural Lashes: The heat might also affect your natural eyelashes, making them more brittle or prone to damage, especially if they are already supporting the weight of the extensions.

* Adhesive Ingredients: Some eyelash glues contain ingredients that might react unfavorably to heat, potentially causing irritation or discomfort.

* Hygiene: Sweat and moisture in the sauna could create a breeding ground for bacteria around the lash line, increasing the risk of infection, especially if the lashes aren't cleaned thoroughly afterwards.

If you're a frequent sauna user and have eyelash extensions, it's best to discuss this with your lash technician. They might recommend specific types of adhesive or aftercare routines that could minimize the risk of damage, though complete protection might not be possible. It's usually safer to avoid wearing them or consider removing them before entering the sauna.
