Anti-Aging Creams for Men: Do They Work & Are They Skin Type Specific?

Question
Can males use anti-aging creams that is specifically design for women? Do asians and caucasians having different skin types use the same creams? Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi there Mike, thanks for your question,

The quick answer is it doesn't matter which skin anti-wrinkle cream is put on, it'll work just the same.

However, in my personal experience, anti-wrinkle creams, if they work at all, only work because they are a moisturiser.

If skin has already got wrinkles then no cream is going to get rid of them. The only sure ways of getting rid of existing wrinkles is either injectable fillers, which fill up the skin so that the wrinkles are stretched smooth, or face lift surgery.

Where creams come into their own is before you get wrinkles.  They won't prevent them altogether but a good moisturiser, as part of a daily skin routine will offer skin what it needs to remain supple. This is the same for men and women.

My other recommendation to help hold back the ravages of time is a good sun block.  Darker skin have a higher level of protection but I would recommend, in all cases that sun block is warn in summer, and with lighter skins, even in winter.

Sun beds also have a detrimental effect on the skin's aging process.

My advice would be therefore to get a good sun block, a good moisturiser and to be careful not to spend too much money and not take the advertisement's view of anti-wrinkle creams terribly seriously.

Having said that though, it is never possible to get rid of absolutely every wrinkle and this wouldn't be desirable as some detail to our face, offers us character and distinction.

I hope that helps but, if you do find a miracle anti-wrinkle cream that I've missed, come back and let me know! Lol!

Take care, Claire
