Determine Your Face Shape: A Simple Guide & Expert Analysis

Question

me
QUESTION: I would just love to know what face shape I have.  I am sending you an attached pic with hopes that you could help me in this decision, as it would help me with makeup app. If you need a different pic or angle, let me know, it only let me send one picture. THanks

ANSWER: Hi there Andrea, thank you for writing to me and attaching your lovely photograph.

To answer your question, I would say you have a rounded face, which your lovely short dark hair compliments.  You also have a beautiful mouth and such fabulous high cheekbones.  You're so lucky! As well as the rest of your face, eyes and so on, it would be fabulous if you could use make-up to highlight your beautiful bone-structure across the cheek-bones to really bring them out and perhaps a nice dark red lip-liner and a lip-stick with lip-gloss a couple of shades lighter on your lips.

Sometimes it's difficult to advise exact colours from a photograph so please try out many different colours until you feel confident you've  released the super-fox that lives in you!

I hope that helps and I hope you enjoy finding the new you with your make-up style.  It's always so exciting to try different things.

Take care, Claire x

QUESTION: Just sent one more picture so that you could verify that I have a round face.  Thanks for the compliments, but my hair is actually long, just pulled back.  I just have a question, a couple:
Would you recommend I contour under cheekbones, as well as highlight above cheekbones?  Or just highlight??  and is blush good too?? Also, is having a round face always due to weight gain??  I gained like four pounds, going from 108 to 112, but still not overweight, but my mom has said that now my face isn't so long and bony, is that enough to make it round???

Answer
Hi again Andrea, Yes, I'd recommend highlighting above and below the cheekbones to make the most of them.

I'm sure having softer areas on the face does help it to look healthy and full but I would suggest you have the bone-structure of a rounded face as well.  I think having your hair away from your face, as you have it, helps the fullness of the face, as long hair tends to draw the eye downwards from the viewer's point of view and makes the face appear smaller.

I hope that helps,

Take care, Claire x
