Revive Your Microfiber Couch Cushions: A Complete Restoration Guide

Microfiber is a popular choice for upholstery because it is tightly woven, making it durable and stain repellent. Some microfiber can also be cleaned with simple water and soap solutions. Microfiber does, however, get smashed over time. This can make the upholstery look old and worn. Restore and revive the microfiber to help make it look new and pristine.

  • Remove the couch cushions.

  • Vacuum the entire couch with the upholstery attachment of your vacuum. Vacuum the couch cushions as well.

  • Comb the entire surface of the couch. A fine-toothed comb will work up the tiny fibers of the microfiber so they are not matted down and smashed. This will make the couch appear new again. Pay special attention to the couch cushions, which will show the most wear.

  • Put the cushions back onto the couch. If the cushions still look worn, flip them so you are looking at the underside.
