The Shark Steam Mop uses super heated water to steam-clean your floors. The steam produced is ideal for breaking up stubborn dirt, as well as sanitizing the entire surface without the use of special cleaning solutions or chemicals. Understanding how to use the steam mop will help you eliminate ground-in layers of dirt that a traditional mop can not remove.
Sweep or vacuum the floors to remove loose dirt and debris. Loose dirt and dust can cause scratches and gouges in the floor due to the high pressure of the steam mop.
Attach the microfiber cloth included with your mop to the base of the steam mop. Line up the hook and loop fasteners and press the cloth to the mop base.
Turn the cap on the water tank counterclockwise to remove it. Insert the funnel into the opening. Fill the tank with water to the "MAX" line. Do not overfill the tank. Replace the cap and turn it clockwise to tighten.
Twist the cord holder to unravel the power cord. Plug the cord into a power outlet. Wait at least 30 seconds for the steam mop to warm up. Pump the handle three to four times or until the microfiber cloth is damp.
Mop the floor with a back-and-forth movement to encourage steam release. If the mop stops producing steam before you are finished, unplug the unit and refill the water tank. Plug the cord back in and complete the mopping.
Unplug the steam mop when you are finished cleaning. Remove the microfiber cloth after it has cooled. The cloths supplied with your steam mop are washable. Put dirty microfiber cloths into the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Dry them on low heat in a traditional dryer or hang them to dry.
