It may happen that you are having an elegant dinner party or a special event going on, and right before the guests come you notice that your silverware is not too bright and has some tarnish, but there is a way that you can polish your silverware fast and easily without cleaning piece by piece.
Place an aluminum foil sheet, with the siny side facing up, in the bottom of a plastic basin.
Put the silverware on top of the aluminum foil, making sure each piece has contact with the foil.
Distribute 1/4 cup of washing soda and 1 teaspoon of salt in the basin. Add a gallon of boiling water and stir with a spoon to mix. Any tarnish on the silverware will transfer to the foil. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
Pour the solution out and rinse under running water. Dry with a towel.
