A truck bed liner is a durable covering that protects the sides and floor of your truck’s cargo area. Bed liners are available in plastic and rubber formats; some are removable if you decide you no longer want them. Like your truck’s paint and bumpers, a bed liner attracts dust, dirt and other debris. It is important to clean your truck’s bed liner on a regular basis to keep debris from embedding into the liner and permanently staining it.
Remove any tools, supplies and other items from sitting on your truck’s bed liner. Place the items away from the truck so the items don’t get wet.
Sweep the bed liner with a broom to remove any loose dust and dirt. Spray the liner thoroughly with water. Mix 1 cup of a detergent soap containing degreaser and cold water in a bucket. Stir the soap mixture with a stiff-bristle scrub brush.
Apply the mixture to the liner and scrub any caked-on debris and grease buildup. Don’t forget to clean the sides of your bed liner. Repeat this step until the bed liner is clean.
Pour 1 cup of trisodium phosphate (TSP) and 1 cup of hot water into the soap mixture if stains and debris are still present on the bed liner. Stir the mixture with the scrub brush, apply the mixture to the stains/debris, then scrub vigorously to remove the buildup.
Rinse the liner throughly with water. Dry the bed liner by hand using a chamois or microfiber towel.
