Today, get ready for some semi-inversions, dynamic movements and a twist!
The Postures
Standing Forward Fold: this is great for digestion and circulation.
Chair: you’ll build strength in the legs and heat in the body – excellent for the detoxification process.
Chair with twist: same as chair but with the added twist we’re rinsing out the internal organs which is again great for detoxification and elimination
Downward Facing Dog: Considered an inversion which are suggested to be excellent for our digestive system and circulation
Fish: Excellent for opening the chest space and promoting excellent posture. Aligning ourselves with good posture gives our digestive system a better chance to function properly.
Legs up the wall: This one’s all about giving back to the body and chilling out. Having legs up the wall means we’re draining fluid out of the leg and ankles as well as promoting blood pumping back to the heart. It’s sweet on our circulatory system and perfect for winding down and manifesting good healthy skin. Your thoughts and temperament can affect health and skin so keep them light, happy and chilled.
To maintain your skin’s gorgeous glow, I asked my very close friend, fellow yogi and beautician, Gabrielle for her top tips. (If you live in Bondi, and your skin needs a pick-me-up, contact her on 0413 702 999).
Gabrielle’s top tips for glowing skin:
1) Get your beauty sleep - Sleep is key to good skin and most people feel rested after around 8 hours of sleep.
2) Clean hands, clear skin - Be aware of hygiene and when you touch your face.
3) Personalised skincare - Adopt a consistent skin care routine and speak to your beautician or dermatologist to establish one that’s individual to you.
4) Wear SPF daily – even in winter. Protect your skin against the sun and avoid baking.
5) Up your fluid intake - Remain hydrated to keep your skin elasticised and plump. You can’t beat filtered water, and coconut water.
