Jaane Tu Ya Jaana Na
This climax had everybody at the edge of their seats and its comic undertone made it so much more memorable! The whole gesture of Jai getting to their airport on horseback and then breaking in to the airport and singing for Aditi in the terrible voice was one of the most heartwarming proposals of all time! Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani 
One of the most romantic movies of all time featuring the most compatible on-screen couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the proposal scene at the end of the film melted everybody's heart. The way Bunny walks in casually and pulls out a fake ring so nonchalantly and says the line "but mera pyaar to asli hai na baby," made everybody go awwww and wish they were in the place of Naina. Despite being labelled as the 'serial kisser' of the Bollywood industry, Emraan Hashmi's movies have the most romantic scenes. In this film, he chases Sonal Chauhan in his car, blocks her car and proposes in the middle of the streets. Through this grand gesture, he not only wooed her but her friends too! Rang De Basanti
Though it is not a romantic film, the proposal scene where Ajay asked Sonia to marry him in front of all their friends was heart touching. And the way she broke down after that seemed too appropriate of a reaction for such a gesture. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Any romantic list is incomplete without King Khan in it. Taking the cake for the big romantic gesture, in this film, Raj goes all out with his proposal in Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai and ends it by using the city lights as his landscape for confessing his love! Break Ke Baad
This film made it seem like relationship rules were changing. For once, Alia wanted space from the relationship to focus on her career rather than the other way around. She also proposed to Jai by saying some of the cutest things to convince him to marry her (when he already was). What a perfect ending this was! Dil Toh Pagal Hai
Deepika wasn't the first to start the trend of proposing to her man - Madhuri Dixit did it back in 1997!
