QuestionTwo foods irritate my digestion around my lower right side. The ingredients these two foods have in common are: canola oil, carrageenan, and sodium citrate. Are any of these ingredients known to cause digestive irritation?
Thanks
AnswerDear Peter,
Any food can cause intestinal irritation as an allergen or being too rough on the intestinal wall in case of its inflammation or mechanical abnormalities. To figure it out in one's particular case, there's a method of rotation -- eliminating first all suspicious foods, then adding them one at a time, say once a week, thus catching the ingredient that is worst for your intestines.
Hope it helps. If not, Please don't hesitate follow up with this question, I'll be happy to go into details.
