Postpartum Weight Loss: Tips & Support After Pregnancy

Question
My baby girl just turned 8 mos and I have been struggling with weight loss from the pregnancy.  I was in the ER yesterday for gallstones (going to be having it removed) where I discovered I am 8 pounds heavier than I was the day I left the hospital after having her.  I was 112 lbs before getting pregnant this last time... was 168 the day I went into labor, 148 the day I left the hopsital and am now 156.  This is my second child.  It took me a year and 1/2 to lose the weight with my first child with no lifestyle/eating changes and I lost all but 5 of the 65 lbs I gained during that pregancy.  Because I have not lost ONE pound, and in fact have gained 8, I am fearful that I will be overweight forever.  Because of my gallbladder problems I was told to go on a low fat diet.  I guess I should be on one anyway cuz of my weight issue.  I am LOST as to counting calories, fat grams, and healthy foods.  I have been on internet all morning trying to come up with some low fat recipes that our family will enjoy.. but geez it seems as though low fat means no taste.  Is there any advice you can offer?

Answer
Hi Sabrina,

Focus on the quality of what you eat and the quantity tends to take cars of itself. A little olive oil and real butter can go a long way for flavor. Fat free stuff is a waste of time. Please give http://www.premiumfuel.com a read to get the idea of how in an effort to lose weight, eating too little lowers metabolism and the whole effort backfires. This is esp true for women and anybody as they get older.
