13-Year-Old Workout Plan: Build Muscle & Fitness at Home

Question
If I run a 1 mile, do push ups (20 adding 2 every week), sid ups (same), pull ups (as many as can), ear healthy, bike 2 miles, punch punching bag for 10 min (in karate so will help me), and stretch.

I will do all that 3 times a day 5 days a week Sat and Sunday I will rest.

Will all that help me get a visible six pack, Help me gain some muscle, and help me be  more active longer?

I'm 13, so I can not join a gym, buy weights, and such

Anything else that can help me? Thanks!

Answer
Dear Alex,

I think if you do that once or twice a day it will help you gain muscle and increase your endurance--if you do it three times a day I don't think you'll have time for your homework!

Be sure you are eating healthy and not cutting out too much trying to lose weight --I'm not sure how much you weigh now, but at your age you may very well be burning a LOT while growing.

Getting an actual 6 pack depends, unfortunately, very much on your genetics.  Whether or not you will look like you WANT to, no one will know until you give it a try ... at least, doing regular exercise and eating healthy will help you be the most fit you can be :)
