Reducing Postpartum Belly Fat: Advice & Realistic Expectations

Question
Hello. I had my second child 8 months ago. I have been eating right and excercising atleast 3 times a week. I am 5'4" and weigh 201. I have a major "mothers apron" and I am afraid I will never reduce that fat on my belly. I would like to weigh 130. I am going to start going to the gym atleast 5 times a week now. Will I ever get rid or reduce that fat? I do have a lot of weight to lose.  Thank you Hollie

Answer
Yes, Hollie,
If you increase the calories burned through exercise and decrease the calories you eat you WILL lose weight! Give it time and stick with it.  Keeping a food and exercise journal helps. Think of small rewards to keep you going each week. Break up your weight loss goals in small steps, like 3 months at a time, even 5-10 pounds.
