QuestionI am a 55 year old guy. I have struggled with a bloated, but not fat, belly for years.
At first I thought it might be gluten as I improved a little when I cut that out.
Recently I stopped eating my traditional toast for breakfast and felt much better-less bloating and my sinuses cleared up.
Is this a yeast intolerance? My family are all big bread eaters and share the same symptoms. I have also noticed I get hay fever like symptoms the day after a few too many beer, but vodka, other than a slight headache, I feel OK.
Thanks!
AnswerHi Gordon,
I have never heard of a yeast allergy, but generally health professionals advice people to avoid whatever foods cause discomfort, even if we can never pin point the reason why.
You said you had stopped eating gluten for a while and that helped, and then stopped eating the toast which helped even more--I'm confused, because unless you were eating a special type of bread, it does contain gluten and that could be the solution!
