QUESTION: hi i'm 19 and was wondering i mostly carry all my fat in my stomach and arm area is there a way i can lose it without losing to much of my other parts

QUESTION: yeah but i was thinking about working out a lot because i really want to lose weight by my birthday which is June 27 and i want to  lose it least 40 pounds but i keep hearing that won't happen. but i was thinking if i eat like about 900 calories a day and workout 6 day a week for 2 hour. how many pounds can i lose if i do that? i know you are going to say that's not enough calories but i will be eating a lot
breakfast oatmeal/with two slices of turkey bacon
snacks- 100 calorie pack and a orange
lunch- grilled chicken salad with spray dressing
snack-100 calorie pack and a pack of carrots
dinner- grilled or baked fish or chicken with green beans and corn
105 onces of water plus i will being taking one a day weight smart and fiber sure if i stick to this will i be able to lose 40 pounds by then?
ANSWER: Hi, Toya. I am glad to hear that you are determined and that you have a goal. However, I want to clear a few things:

1. Eating less calories might PREVENT you from losing wait. You see, when your calorie intake is too low, your metabolism slows down, which will make harder for you to burn fat.  900 calories is way too low. You should eat 5-7 healthy small meals per day without severe limitations and making your last meal relatively early, so that your body rests at night and doesn't work hard at night on digesting the foot and storing fat.  

2. 40 lbs is an unrealistic goal if you want to lose weight the natural way. I suggest that you reframe your thinking, set a more realistic goal and enjoy the process of losing weight without being attached so much to the numbers at this point.  

3. Working out 6 days per week for 2 hours is a way to disaster and burning yourself out while sustaining injuries. 30 minuties per day, 4 times per week, of intense cardio work out in addition to healthy nutrition and overall more active lifestyle (walking instead of driving where possible, doing some kind of sports (games), etc...) is all you need to get you on the right track toward wait loss. And losing 5-7 pounds per month is plenty!  

It is not recommended working out every single day and for that long. Your body needs to recover and it needs time to do that. Pushing it too hard will get you really really tired, hurt and will discourage you from working out.

QUESTION: but i barely it now and i'm gaining weight like cause. like today it 2:45 i stay in chicago but i went to bed around 4am and i woke up at 1pm i haven't ate anything yet but i'm about to eat a bowl of cereal than later for dinner i'm gonna have some grilled fish with a salad and i eat like this everyday and i keep gaining weight why? it's just if i don;t lose weight for the summer i think i will kill myself
ANSWER: Exactly. The reason you can wait is because YOUR BODY HAS MEMORY. It knows that you don't give it food on a regular basis, so when it gets the food, it stores it as fat instead of burning it. MANY SMALL MEALS THROUGHOUT THE DAY (AND NOT AT NIGHT) OF HEALTHY FOOD (WHICH IS NOT CEREAL) SUCH AS FRUIT, VEGETABLES, WHOLE GRAIN CARBS AND LEAN MEAT IS WHAT YOU NEED IN ADDITION TO AMPLE WATER.  

And ...exercise must become part of your daily life.  

AS SOON AS YOU START EATING MORE YOU WILL LOSE MORE WEIGHT! I know that it doesn't make sense, but that's how your body works.  

And ... why losing weight by your birthday is such a matter of life and death? Such a pressure certainly won't help you lose wait.

Well, you must be patient. It's better to achieve your results later than never. And don't let a few losers to change your image of yourself. People who treat you that way are unworthy of your attention!
