Do windows in Tanzanite loose gems and jewelry affect the price of the gem?

Answer
Windows (or areas in a gem where light travels directly through, so you can clearly see what is behind it) are indications of poor cutting.
A gem with windows is not as valuable as a stone that is properly cut where the majority of light that enters the stone is refracted or reflected back to the viewer.
