Electroplating vs. Plating: Understanding Durability & Differences

With regard to jewelry findings, which is better, electroplate or just plain plated.  I heard that electroplate is more durable than plated.  Is this true?

the process known as electroplating is the one and the same as plating...there is no difference
we use anodes and special solutions with a rectifier depending on type of plating, gold, rhodium, silver etc........
are you referring to a pen plating as opposed to solution plating perhaps???? each one has its pros and cons
