There is no reason to take magnesium supplementation during pregnancy. Magnesium can cause diarrhea and electrolyte imbalance, muscle weakness, and cardia problems. Magnesium is used in some compounds as an antacid, but there is no need for it during pregnancy.Magnesium can also cause stones in the kidneys of the baby and of the mother.
