Questionjust wondering if you know of any wives tales or best odds on how to become pregnant with a specific sex?
AnswerHi Michelle,
yes there are plenty of old wives tales. The best one I know is this:
once you calculate when you are ovulating, usually around day 10-11 or your cycle, (meaning 10 days after the FIRST day of your period) if you try to conceive in the BEGINNING of the ovulation, there is supposedly a greater chance of having a girl. The reasoning is that female sperm can "supposedly" live longer and therefore have a greater chance of having more female sperm in the fallopian tubes where the newly released egg would meet them sooner.
By this same tale, if you wanted a boy, you are supposed to try to conceive at the END of the ovulation period, meaning maybe day 12 or 13, supposedly the male sperm can swim faster than the female sperm, and thus the male sperm have a greater chance of catching the egg as it is closer by then.
I dont know if this works or not! I have a boy and a girl of my own, but we did not try any special patterns or timing.
good luck!
