Yam Root Dosage & Timing: Addressing Your Questions

Question
Hello, Sorry to bother you again but I have two more quick questions. I was looking for some yam root, and noticed there are a few different ones with different milligrams. Are any better than the other?? Also, you said to start taking it about a week before my period is due. What if my period is kinda irregular and Im not sure when it will come? Is it okay to take it about two weeks before or should I wait till I start having more period like symptoms. The reason I ask this is because some months I dont have any symptoms and it just pops up, and others I know. Sorry again, but thanks for all your help.

-----Question-----
Hello me and my husband have been trying to conceive for almost two years, and haven't been able to. A friend told me to try the herb yam root. Do you know if this has been succesful? Also I know you are supposed to take it a certain way, like only for the two weeks before your period or something like that? Not sure but was wondering if you could tell me the correct information. Thank you for your help.

Hi Lisa :)

I am very familiar with yam root. Infact, several times I have reccomended to some ladies who have been having a tough time concieving.

Yam root is apparently a natural ovulating inducing drug. It acts simular, to the pharmacutical drug, clomid, but without the medicinal values.

It is actually, to be taken a about a week before your period is due, during your period, and then for the following week after your period.

It is said that not only does it induce ovulation, (to sometimes even twice a month) but also helps the cervical mucous prepare for possible conception, and pregnancy.

Many claim this remedy is aided them in concieving, infact a personal friend of mine took it, after 2 years of trying and got pregnant immediately. She does claim, it was Yam Root that made the difference for her.

Just keep in mind, that is absolutely no medical evidence to prove the findings I mentioned, but to many ladies, its been their miracle remedy to having a baby.

hope this answers your question, and thanks so much for writing!

Answer
Hi Lisa,

I am aware of the different dosages. Thats all due, because yam root is available in different forms. You can purchase it in powder form, in a pill form, capsule form, and even a liquid. The directions on the label will have the correct dosage to take, according to the form of yam root you have.

Yam root, has absolutely no known ill effects on the human body. So I would think that there is no problem with you taking the root, a little earlier then I originally had reccomended. However, I still have to advise you, that there is no medical proof, with anything I am saying. I have studied all the information, but there is no medical proof to back this up, otherwise.

The only possible side effect of yamroot that I have read, is that if its taken during pregnancy, it can make your uterus contract. So, there is a possibility of possible complications due to that, if you are pregnant. However, again this is speculation, and there is nothing concrete to back this up.

I hope this has answered your question :) And thanks for writing again!

All the best over the holidays, and should you have any more questions, or concern, please dont hesitate to write back :)
