QuestionI've had numerous bacterial infections, MRSA, gangrene ruptured gallbladder, constant daily pain and fatigue
But according to my lab results and Dr. Im healthy as a horse.
My 50 year old heart is as healthy as a 20 year old according to my cardiologist.
So why would my c-reactive protein be so high(8.0)& everything else is normal- but I haven't felt normal in months...
AnswerI'd be glad to try and answer your question. C-reactive protein (CRP) is a protein in the body that is released when the body has some sort of inflammation present. While the CRP test is not specific enough to diagnose a particular disease, it does serve as a general marker for infection and inflammation, thus alerting medical professionals that further testing and treatment may be necessary. CRP is also ordered by a doctor to monitor certain conditions. If you're still not feeling well, be persistant with your doctor. There may be more testing that can be done to see why you're not feeling good.
