QuestionHi,
I have irregular periods and was on medicines (birth control) for regularisation. Now I'm married and would like to get pregnant.Doctor prescribed me Prometrium 200mg & Prenatal. And I find that Im not ovulating.Im depressed because of this.
Does Prometrium help in ovulation? Or do I have to take any other pills. What helps me get pregnant sooner ?
Please do help me out...
Thanks,
Praveena
AnswerHello Praveena from the U.S.
Prometrium does not induce ovulation, it simply causes a withdrawal bleed. If you have irregular periods, it is a result of something causing your ovaries to not work correctly. An evaluation needs to be done to determine what the problem is and then a treatment can be given. Usually a fertility medication needs to be taken to induce ovulation. I would recommend that you read my blog where I have extensively written about this problem.
If you are wanting pregnancy, I would recommend that you seek a fertility specialist to received the appropriate evaluation and treatment. It is obvious to me that your current doc is not that person.
