Creatine Use at a Young Age: Effects and Removal

Question
hi when i was approx 11 yrs old i took creatine.  i took approx as much as a pop can all in total. i also worked out a lot before and after i took it.  i have stopped working out till now (17) and my body is a lot "fuller" than my other friends, but my tricep area is rather "flabby" could this be the water or fat? what can i do to get rid of the creatine in my body now, (6 yrs later) thx.

Answer
Hi Brian,
The creatine in your body is long gone by now. It was  metabolized and either used or excreted within hours after taking it. My guess is that your description of "flabby" triceps is due to fat replacing muscle. This is not an uncommon side effect in weight lifters. The only thing that you can do now is to start working out to tone rather than build muscle eg: multiple reps with lower weights.
