Motion Sickness Bands: Do They Really Work?

I noticed that Barry Manilow wears bands on his wrist because he has extreme motion sickness.  Do you know how those bands are supposed to help motion sickness and are they magnetic?

There has been no evidence in any study to show that these bands do anything for any illness or condition. It may be only a placebo effect. That said, if it IS a placebo effect, and it prevents the motion sickness, it couldn't hurt.
Personally, listening to Barry gives ME motion sickness :-).
