Long-Term Use of Atarax & Benadryl for Itching: Safety & Alternatives

I have had problem with contact dermatitis for years. I have used Atarax and Benadryl for itching. Are these medications harmful to use long term?

no, they aren't harmful  unless they make you too tired.  I would try to find what is causing it... contact derm implies something is coming in contact with the skin and causing a reaction.   Also, Zyrtec or Allegra sometimes is less sedating... hope this helps...
