QuestionI am doing a psychology paper on childbirth and i can't seem to find much information on the subject. I was wondering if there was any way that you might be able to reccommend some sources to help me with this?
AnswerHello Elisha,
What aspect of childbirth are you doing a paper on?
As far as information/sources that may help you with your paper, I recommend the following:
-Any book that discusses the topic of childbirth. A great one is "What to Expect When You Are Expecting." It gives you information on both the physical and mental side of the childbirth experience, for both c-sections and vaginal births, and covers topics such as the loss of a baby, having complications, etc.
-You could talk to someone who has been through childbirth and use them as a source. It would be like an interview and is a perfectly acceptable form of information.
-Talk to a doctor perhaps, or talk to someone who leads a Lamaze childbirthing class. Other great sources would be Doulas, etc... as they have been to see a birth and are there to help the mother.
-Another good source would be hospital social workers.
- You can also use a search engine (I recommend Google or Dogpile) to find information on the topic. The best pages are probably those that are written for/at colleges. There are a lot of studies done on this topic, and I would think you could find a lot of information on this. I wouldn't use personal blogs or chat rooms, or other personal pages. I would stick to medical and scholastic articles.
I hope this helps. If you need any other help, let me know! And, good luck on your paper!!!! :) :) :)
