Understanding 'Attempted Abortion': Examining Ethical and Legal Concerns

Question
Hi. My question is what are anti abortion people talking about when they refer to "attempted abortions"? Is it really true that in some cases babies are born alive and the doctor just allows them to die? That doesn't seem ethical or LEGAL to me, and sounds like they are just trying to sway public opinion. Surely even someone who supports a woman's right to choose could not support such a practice! Thanks.

Answer
I would have to read the specific language but in general when I have read similar things they have been lies, just as you have so astutely determined for yourself.
Abortions are only legal before viability which means before a fetus could survive on its own.  The vast majority of abortions don't even involve a fetus, but rather an embryo because the vast majority of abortions are done very early in pregnancy.

Thank-you for your question.
