QuestionThanks! I'll ask my husband if we can do the exchange thing, although he loves it. If not, I'll resort to the board, which sounds heavenly right now!
Thanks Again,
Karen

Long shot here...
For 34 years I've slept on a very firm mattresss. We recently got a new one and it's soft and plush... And Killing My Back! I just can't take it anymore. Is there anything I can buy to put on my side so I can sleep normally again? I looked in Wal-Mart today, but not really sure what I'm looking for. LOL I just need more firmness to lie on. Right now, feels like I'm sleeping in quicksand. I'm almost ready to start sleeping on the floor. Hell, outside on the patio would be better than that damn spongy mattress.

Hi Karen,
Thank for your "Long shot" inquiry. ;-) I have two suggestions:
1) Depending on how "recently" you purchased the new mattress (& boxspring?), you might contact the company you bought it from and suggest to them your displeasure and unhappiness with it and see if they would allow you to exchange it (great for customer service & their goodwill) for a FIRM or ULTRAFIRM model then pay the difference, if it costs more. IMHO the difference in price will be worth the agony of backaches for years to come from a non-supportive mattress.
2) If that doesn't work, I would suggest you consider buying a wood-board in the dimensions of the surface of your mattress, cover it with a mattress cover and sleep on that.
Whattya think of that?

AnswerSo there are two of you involved in this scenario...did the two of you not give their sample mattress a "tryout" at the store first where you could possibly have noticed a significant difference in support?
Again, depending on how long you have had it, check with the store and see if they have a product that can satify both of your needs to some extent (in-between firmness, like a FIRM, instead of an ULTRA-FIRM, mattress.
