Treating Sun-Induced Dark Spots: A Guide for Fair Skin

QUESTION: iam srikanth 28yrs old male from India.hi madam...iam born with fair complexion and up to my high school my complecxion not much changed.after that ..due not much care taken specially during summer my face and neck region get darkened .my neck region is almost black now and face ..now how remove this sun induced darkening on my face and neck ..please give ur suggetions..thanking you madam

I understand your concern. I do want to help :)

Is there any way you could attach a picture of your face when you reply. This would help.

In the meantime, please answer the following questions

- Are you using a sunscreen?
- Are you using a moisturizer? If so, what is it please
- Are you on medications?
- Did you sunburn?


There are many ways to recover your skin damage/discoloration. Obviously Srikanth, you need to avoid the sun and if you are in the sun, a sunscreen such as sandalwood which is a natural sunscreen.
Some natural remedies are:
- Milk which has lactaid acid and can naturally exfoliate the top layer of the skin. You'll notice less discoloration as you use it daily.
- Fresh lemon juice is one of my favorites which is a mild natural bleaching agent
- hydrogen peroxide.. now I am not sure if they sell this in India in the brown bottle but this is safe to use on the skin.

Use Vitamin E oil and natural cocoa butter to soften your skin as sometimes discoloration dries your skin.

QUESTION: thanks for reply madam.how to use that natural products ,as you are mentioned in reply tell me in detail..then only i can apply correctly .iam not using any sun screen and moisturizer.and also not use any medication...only that frequently take anti histamines for my allergic rhinitis.please suggest me on day moisturizer and cleanser for regular use(my skin type dry type).thanking you madam

I'd like to start by mentioning that you are very polite which is a breath of fresh air. Please call me Elaine :)

There is no wrong way to apply the natural products. You can pour milk in a small cup and apply to your face. You can keep it on for about a half hour to an hour. Then rinse it off. You can keep doing this daily. Of course - it will take some time to see full results.
You can do the same for the fresh lemon juice. You can alternate days.
Some medications as anti histamines may cause symptoms as discoloration on your skin. Did you start taking this recently or has it been a year or longer?

You can use cocoa butter for a moisturizer and sandalwood can be applied as your sunscreen.
If you want store bought moisturizer and sunscreen from Walgreens or Walmart- you could use:

- Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer, SPF 30
- Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15
I want to suggest this as you try it first. I love the Aveeno lines for those that can't afford high end products. This will also lightly lighten your skin as it softens it and protecting your skin with the SPF 15 :) It has an oatmeal base so I feel good about suggesting it.

QUESTION: Hi madam. ur words saying that ur very soft in nature.if u r much older than me it is hard to call you as Elaine..if not much older i definitely call u Ealine.thanks for suggestions i will reply after  applying them for week.i also asked about  cleanser for daily use suggest me on it .here in India we are taking hot sunbathe daily...it reaching  up to 40celicius ...once again very thanks for reply.....
