QuestionQUESTION: Hi Rachel,
I was wondering if you could please help me?
I have a condition called 'dry eyes' which basically means they get scratchy and irritated easily.
I wanted to know if you knew of any good eye shadow I could use?
I find they are either too powdery and it irritates my eyes or they are too creamy and then they just drag my skin or it just sinks into the creases/lines of my eyes.
Do you know of something that is say in between the two above? So it is not too powdery and not too greasy?
Thanks for your help.
Lisa.
ANSWER: Hi Lisa,
Sometimes I use a creme shadow as a primer for the eyes. So I will apply a thin coat of creme shadow and then apply my powder shadow over. The creme shadow underneath will help keep your powder shadow set. Makeup stores also sell eye primers that you can apply before shadow that will keep your shadow in place and from creasing.

QUESTION: Hi Rachel,
Great, thanks.
I don't suppose you can recommend some brands?
The powder shadow I'm okay with but I wouldn't know where to start with the creme shadow though.
Thanks again,
Lisa.
AnswerHi Lisa,
Yes I can recommend some brands I use.
These creme shadows and/or the eye primer work very well. I use the beach blonde under powder shadows and use it just on the lid.

I also use these ones as well sometimes.

Also concealer set with a translucent powder over the eyes does work well as a DIY primer.
