* Sparse: Initially, there will be very few hairs present. You might only notice a few individual strands.
* Fine: The hairs tend to be thinner and softer than the hair that develops later on.
* Lightly Colored: Often, the first hairs are lighter in color, sometimes appearing almost translucent. As the hair matures, it typically becomes darker and coarser.
* Short: The hairs will be short in length.
* Downy: They may resemble the soft, downy hair (vellus hair) that is already present on much of the body, but they will be slightly thicker and more noticeable.
