* No Nerves or Blood Vessels: The hair shaft (the part you see) has no nerves or blood vessels, so it cannot feel or repair itself. That's why cutting your hair doesn't hurt.
So, the hair that extends beyond your scalp is made up of dead, keratinized cells.
