QuestionMy son is 8 years old and he has the strangest hair growth pattern. The back of his head has this little whirl and as the hair grows it actually growsfrom one side to the other (horizontally) rather than from top to bottom like normal hair. We keep it short, but within 2-3 weeks it starts to grow in that weird way again and is impossible to comb.
From the front, his hair tends to grow back to front, which doesn't look too bad. But the back looks strange!
Haveyou ever seen anything like what I am describing? Any ideas other than to keep it short? One place we took him to tried to mouuse it up. That didn't last and as soon asit was washed it was back to the way it was before.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

I have cut many different hair types through out the years including the one you have described not everyone hair grows like this but it is normal. I am sorry but there is only one of two things that you can do either (a) keep it moussed or (b) keep it cut short. eventually as he grows older and natures takes its course the growth pattern will change, other then that there is really nothing you can do. There are different types of short hair cuts if you would like to change it up a bit such as the fade. This way the top will be as long as you would like it and the back and sides as short as desired and it will take a little longer for the hair to grow back in.
