DIY Body Masks: Simple Recipes for Healthy Skin

Wouldn’t it be brilliant if you could make one of those brilliant body masks at home? And how great would it be if they worked great on you! Well, if you enjoy using and experimenting with different kind of body masks and skin treatment, then read this post! Here we talk about a couple of homemade recipes for making body masks at home.

Homemade Body Masks:

1. Chocolate Body Mask:

The first in our list of homemade body masks, this chocolate body mask is not to be eaten. Cocoa has more benefits than simply tasting great. It is a strong antioxidant that is good for the skin. It is crammed with essential minerals like potassium, zinc and calcium. The high levels of caffeine and theobromine in cocoa, though not good for the body, are actually good for the skin.

Caffeine seeps into the skin quite easily. It prevents excess fat accumulation and moisturizes your skin. This makes it a great remedy for anti-cellulite treatments. Theobromine has a similar effect, albeit it is slightly weaker than caffeine.

So, whip up a batch of chocolate body scrub with these simple ingredients. You will not only smell divine, but look fabulous as well, as excess fat and cellulite will reduce with continued use.

Ingredients:

  • 10 drops of rose geranium essential oil
  • 50 g organic cocoa powder
  • 50-75 g strong green or white tea
  • 50 g Rhassoul mud
  • 50 g aloe vera gel

Instructions:

  1. Add the cocoa powder and Rhassoul mud to a bowl.
Add some aloe vera gel to the bowl and mix well.
  2. Add the aloe vera gel and cocoa powder mix to a blender and blend until it forms a smooth paste.
  3. Add some green tea to the mixture until you get a thinner mix than the smooth paste. (Make sure you don’t add excess liquid as the mask may become runny).
  4. Add some rose geranium essential oil.
  5. Now, using a paint brush or a cosmetic brush, paint the body mask onto your thighs and other cellulite stricken parts.
  6. Make sure you cover all parts of your body.
  7. If you are left with any of the mixture, use it as an anti-aging face mask.
  8. Once you have applied the mask, let it set and dry for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Once it dries out, take a shower and gently scrub the mixture on your body.
  10. Clean your skin and pat dry with a towel.

The Chocolate Body Mask does not have a long shelf life, and you should use it when it’s fresh.

Now that you know how to make the chocolate body mask, let’s look at another do-it-yourself recipe for a citrus body polish. You can use the citrus body polish after you use the chocolate body scrub.

2. Simple Rosemary Citrus Body Polish:

This body mask includes the delightful little herb, rosemary, which helps lift your mood and calms your mind. The lemon juice helps exfoliate your skin, helping eliminate free radicals and acne-causing bacteria.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons rosemary (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ cup sea salt
  • ¼ cup grape seed, coconut or olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Add the lemon juice and honey in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Now take the crushed rosemary and sea salt in another cup and blend. Do this until the crushed rosemary is thoroughly mixed with the sea salt.
  3. Now add the oil (grape seed, coconut or olive oil) to the crushed rosemary and mix well.
  4. Mix the lemon juice and honey with the oil and crushed rosemary mix.
  5. Now, using a paint brush or a cosmetic brush, paint the body mask onto your thighs and other body parts.
  6. Once you have applied the mask, let it set and dry for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Once it dries out, take a shower and gently scrub the mixture on your body.
  8. Clean your skin and pat dry with a towel.
