Lace Nail Stickers: A Complete Guide to Perfect Application & Stunning Designs

Nail Stickers are a godsend for those nail polish design lovers who are not so good in creating nail arts free hand but love to have stylish and gorgeous nails. Also stickers come handy if you have to do nail art in a jiffy.

Advantages of Lacey Nails:

1. Lace stickers for nails look very pretty if applied perfectly and stay for more than a week on your natural or artificial nails with topcoat applied on it.

2. Lace stickers come in many designs and colors. They come with adhesive back or in water decal form.

3. They are very cheap. You can get them for RS. 50 to RS. 150 approximately. One pack is enough to apply on both your hands and toes.

Lace Nails Tutorial 1:

Here I am discussing the step by step method to apply lace nail art stickers with adhesive backing perfectly.

Things you will need:

  • Any nail polish of your choice (here I am using orange colored nail polish from face shop)
  • Lace nail sticker pack ( I am using nail stickers bought from Bornprettystore.com)
  • Pliers and Orange stick/toothpick
  • Top coat and base coat.
  • Tweezers.

Step 1:

Apply Base coat (choose base coat according to your requirement) and let it dry for 2 minutes.

Step 2:

Apply base color using three step technique and paint your nails with two coats to get the perfect coverage and let it dry completely.

Step 3:

With your tooth pick or orange stick, pull your sticker up from its base and then use your tweezers to lift the lace sticker from its base.

Step 4:

Put the sticker on your nail in which ever position you like and wait for a few seconds to let that sticker settle on your nail.

Step 5:

Use small scissors and cut the excess sticker. Use the remaining sticker on other fingers following the same method.

Step 6:

Apply the thin layer of clear polish or top coat over your lace and if you get any creases on your sticker, smoothen them by pressing them with the wide end of your orange stick or tooth pick.

Step 7:

Apply the final round of your topcoat. Make sure it is not very thick and use a fast drying one.

Step 8:

Finally air dry your nails. You can use a hair dryer to dry them quickly, in case you don’t have proper nail dryer.

Lace Nails Tutorial 2:

Things Needed:

  • Strips of Lace From A Ribbon Spool
  • Tip Top Protein Base Coat
  • A Base Colour of your choice
  • Non-Permanent Glue
  • Thick Clear Top Coat Quick Dry Final Phase
  • A Toothpick
  • Wax Paper

Step 1:

To recreate this another lacy nails look, first prep your nails with a base coat and a base colour because this DIY does involve glue and you do not want to glue lace directly to your nails. I used Base Coat and Tip Top’s Nail Chic Cream Puff as the base colour. You will want to choose a base colour that contrasts well with the colour of your lace.

Step 2:

Next, lay the lace over a nail and with a pair of small scissors (I used eyebrow scissors), cut the lace to the size of your nail. You will want the lace to be slightly shorter than the length of your nails – it is very important that it does not extend beyond your nail, else you will not be able to seal it with the top coat. Lay a piece of lace on wax paper, coat the back side with glue using a toothpick, and place the lace on your nail pressing the sides down with the toothpick. Use Bostick as it has an immediate grip, yet allows you to reposition the lace before it dries. Repeat the trim and glue process for your remaining nails.

Step 3:

Finish the manicure with a couple of applications of a very thick clear top coat until the edges are sealed and the nail is smooth to the touch.

Step 4:

To remove, soak in acetone.

Some more tips and tricks:

1. You can follow same steps for applying other stickers too. Using tweezers makes sticker application easy and non messy.

2. You can apply these easy nail art designs in any position – vertical, horizontal or diagonal. It purely depends on your creativity for happy nails lacey and subtle at the same time.

3. While cutting the excess sticker, use small scissors and also cut the sticker little shorter so that it does not get stuck onto anything and peels off.

4. Make sure your base color is completely dry before adding stickers to your manicure.
