Spring 2015 Makeup Trends: 5 Must-Try Looks

The fashion runways have spoken and these are the hottest makeup trends for Spring 2015. From bold lipstick shades to graphic eyeliner, here are five makeup trends that will brighten your look as the temperature keeps dropping.

Get ready for the Spring 2015 makeup trends!

1. Graphic Eyeliner:

Whether it’s in the form of a cat eye, an upside down cat eye, or geometric liner, bold black eye pencil is a must-have magic wand this season, ladies! So if you don’t already own it – are you kidding us? – pick some up and get playing. We swear by Revlon ColorStay Creme Gel Eye Liner in Black for a versatile cat-eye that is great for both work and night out with some tiny graphic lines.

You see, classic doesn’t have to be boring and this year’s take with graphic eyeliner proves just that!

2. Bright Lips:

Be it bubble gum pink, lilac, neon-orange or flaming red – the best investment you can make this season is buying a dozen bright lip shades that would match your mood perfectly.

To master a bold lip, begin by applying a lip balm. Make sure that once applied, you blot your lips a few times with a tissue. This will take off any excess lip balm and will help your lips remain soft and smooth. Once this is done, create a template for the colour and to achieve this you can use a lip liner and blend with a brush. Now to avoid constant reapplying, first apply a lip stain (try Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge) and then apply a bold lipstick shade of your choice. Finish off the look by blotting this with translucent light weight powder.

3. Dewy Skin:

If there ever were a time to tone done your makeup, this season is it. Not a new trend, but this dewy complexion is certainly ruling 2015 Spring makeup look.

Every fashionista’s dream, to attain this no makeup look, make sure you first get an appointment with your facialist. Then try a good liquid luminizer like Kevyn Aucoin’s The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting or Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturiser, and dab it on lightly with your fingertips to camouflage any discoloration.

4. Bold And Bronzed:

If you are reluctant of a no makeup look, then try the fresh, glowing, sun-kissed and subtle-bronzed face. A quick fix for all our makeup woes, bronzer is easier to use than a blush or a foundation, but the spring/summer makeup product is surely a tricky one to apply.

To wear a bronzer right, ensure you choose a soft, neutral shades bronzer that’s no more than two shades darker than your skin tone. This not only deepens your skin tone, but also helps you get a more chiselled look. Also avoid shimmer bronzer. Trust us when we say this, but too much of glitter only makes your skin look sweaty and oily. Now you don’t want that, do you?

For that fresh-from-the-beach effect, we recommend RMS Buriti Bronzer and Shiseido Makeup Bronzer in Medium.

5. Perfect Plum:

If you are tired of that age-old black smoky eye, it’s an indication that you might want to replace it with something more inspired and bolder – like with the plum eye shadow. And a Shimmer one in that. Perfect!

To get the modern and edgy look, first apply a glittery purple eyeliner pencil from your upper eyelids to your crease, like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil In Rockstar, extending and blending it past your outer corner. Now swipe the eyeliner to your lower eyelids and connect both the lines at the outer corner. Once done, layer on Revlon Plum ColorStay ShadowLinks Eye Shadow from your upper eyelids to your crease. Further extend the shadow into a cat-eye and blend it softly to create a perfect smoky eye in plum. Glam, innit?
