I got this rather marvellous pomade from Freedom (loving Freedom at the moment). I bought it initially in Soft Brown, then quickly realised that I had bought the wrong colour- too red! I needed Medium Brown- a cool toned brown. Medium Brown has been out of stock for weeks. After much checking of the website (both Superdrug and Freedom, where you can get it from) and after trying several different Superdrug shops, I finally got my hands on one. I’ve heard it’s really similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, which is meant to be excellent.
Freedom does 11 shades of the pomade- from Blonde to Black with Browns, Taupe and Auburn in between. For a black haired pale skinned person like me Medium Brown is an ideal cool toned brown. Here’s how they swatch-
Like I say, Soft Brown is warmer and came up a bit red on me.
The pomade is highly pigmented and easy to move around and blend. The formula is creamy rather than a gel. It’s pigmented so you only need a small amount for each brow. This is how I apply Freedom Brow Pomade-

That’s better! The best thing about Freedom’s brow pomade is it’s staying power. It takes about 5 minutes to set, so you get plenty of working time. When it’s set it’s resistant to smudging, water and to a certain extent oil (there’s a little wear by the end of the day). I tried to wipe off my swatches with a baby wipe, it laughed in the wipe’s face!-
It’s really excellent. I promise it’s not going to run down your face if it rains. Freedom claims this pomade is “Bulletproof”, I’m not going to test that claim.
You get 5g of the pomade for £5. That’s a bargain in my book. I did have trouble getting hold of the Medium Brown shade, it was out of stock everywhere. It’s in stock now at Freedom.com.
I think the only downside to this product is how tricky it is choosing the right shade. Taupe or Blonde are good for those with fair hair; girls with Warm Tones check out Soft Brown, Auburn, Chocolate and Caramel; Cool toned brunettes look for Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Ash Brown; if you have black hair and dark skin then Ebony or Granite are for you. I didn’t see any testers in Superdrug which is a bit of a pain.
