Apple cider vinegar is one of the best remedy for dandruff oily as well as dry scalp. It helps to maintain a proper pH level of the scalp and removes the build up of dead cells.
Let's take a look at how apple cider vinegar can treat dandruff quickly and the steps to use ACV on the scalp.
You must choose the right type of ACV for best results. One prepared with apple juice and natural sugar can be considered real. You must select an organic, unprocessed and unfiltered ACV, avoiding refined and clear ACV as many harmful chemicals have been added to it.
You must shake the bottle well before use as the good ingredients in it are settled at the bottom of the bottle. Shaking the bottle distributes these ingredients uniformly in the liquid. This ensures that you are taking the beneficial ingredients in the right proportion.
If you find a cloudy matter floating or at the bottom of the bottle, then you have chosen the right product. This cloudy matter is called the mother of vinegar. It contains good bacteria, useful enzymes and minerals. All these will help to eliminate dandruff and keep your hair healthy.
Wash your hair with shampoo and rinse with water. Dilute equal parts of ACV and water. Apply this on your scalp using your finger tips. Gently massage on the scalp and wrap your hair with a towel or shower cap. Keep it for 15 minutes and later wash off with warm water. Repeat this treatment daily for a week until dandruff is completely removed. You can also put the mixture in a spray bottle and then spray this mixture on your scalp.
If you have a sensitive skin, first test a small area of your scalp by applying a little ACV. Later you can go ahead with the treatment if no irritation occurs. If there is any kind of irritation, dilute ACV with a lot of water so that its acidity gets less.
In most cases, the reason for dandruff is fungal or bacterial infections. ACV kills bactrial and fungal growth on your scalp and thus removes dandruff.
ACV maintains the natural medium of your scalp (pH) and thus removes the residual build up. It cleanses your scalp, maintains pH without depriving hair from the natural oils.
