Mariah Carey launched her new fragrance, called “Forever”, almost in the same time her newest musical album was released. Her new fragrance takes its name from an older song of the artist.
We can’t separate a new scent from its name, so this fragrance
should have been, and it is, just like Mariah, opulent.
Developed by perfumer Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan (who also
created perfumes for Givenchy, Gloria Vanderbilt, Christian Dior,
Ralph Lauren or Balenciaga), “Forever” speaks about a beautiful
period of Mariah Carey’s life.
“I am in a wonderful place right now, surrounded by all the things
I love, and Forever captures this moment in time.” This is the
second fragrance signed Mariah, after M by Mariah Carey, who came
to light a couple of years ago, in September 2007.
Available in a collection (1 oz. for $42, 1.7 oz. for $55 and 3.3
oz. for $65 — as well as a 0.5-oz. parfum, $250, and a 6.8-oz. body
lotion, $28), “Forever” is, no doubt about it, a floral fragrance.
It has as top notes neroli, lotus blossom and dewy green apple, the
heart of tuberose and gardenia, and a drydown of white musk and
exotic woods.
“I wanted the scent to be radiant but to also evoke a warm
sensuality. This fragrance has iconic white florals, which convey a
powerful message of feminine sensuality and classic glamour,” said
Olivier Gillotin. And it must have succeeded!
