Pregnancy Tummy Casting: Preserve Your Maternity Journey

Pregnancy tummy casting molding is an innovative and unique way to memorialize the phases of maternity, creating a 3D family memorabilia which can be decorated, painted, and displayed as art work as well.

Though some women create one tummy sculpture to cherish their maternity by, some prefer to develop few moldings so that they can remember different phases of their maternity. Apart from casting the pregnant stomach, quite a few decide to have their breasts, arms, palms, or another body part they desire, to be memorialized in the mold also. A favorite position for a belly cast is with the mother's arms protecting her pregnant tummy.

Few mothers prefer to share this experience with their the baby's father, though others consider would be more fulfilling to celebrate it with their friends and/or immediate family too. No matter what the choice may be, pregnancy body molding is work for minimum two folks, more if photographs of the body molding process are wanted.

Gestational tummy casting may take a while so ensure the expecting mother is quite comfortable, has been to the washroom, and has something to relieve her thirst close by. Before beginning, the husband must confirm that the work section, ground and seating, is covered with a rag or an old plastic cover.

Lubricate the sections that will be included in the belly sculpture with Vaseline or something matching, then place the gauze strips in a crossover format over lubricant. This works to set well while it is drying. Let dry for approximately one half hour then remove the tummy mold for maternity by lightly shaking yourself unless it gets free after which your husband can lift it away from the expectant mother.

Place the gestational stomach molding away for around one or two days. After it is completely set paint a coat of Gesso to prevent environmental destruction. Gesso is a loose form of the mineral calcium-carbonate used by creative people. Gesso can also be used as a paint-primer for the tummy sculpture if the mother wants it colored.

Considering the belly sculpture is going to be colored, ensure it has been taken off from the expectant mother first. The plaster is not damaging to the skin but ingredients in the paint may be harmful to mother or child. Pregnancy body casting can be an enjoyable experience for all those involved, celebrating fun together with the proud parent/s while making memories for generations to come.
