Plastic eyeglass frames are stylish, lightweight and often less expensive than their metal counterparts. They also break more easily, however. Rather than purchase an entirely new set of frames, many people opt for that well-known solution to many household repair problems: super glue. Done carefully, a super glue repair can make your frames look like they were never even broken. If you are at all clumsy or overly generous with the glue, you can drip it onto your eyeglass lenses. Before you can wear your glasses again, you will have to remove this cloudy mess.
Check the label on your nail polish remover. Make sure that it includes acetone as one of its ingredients. If not, purchase another bottle that does.
Pour a small amount of nail polish remover into the cap. Set the bottle aside. Dip one end of a cotton swab into the remover.
Rub the moistened end of the swab over the glue on your glasses lens. Gently rub it over and over again to work the remover into the glue. Wipe the liquid away with a soft cloth. Repeat this application, and wipe until the glue has been completely removed from your glasses.
