DIY Oatmeal Glycerin Soap: Soothing & Chemical-Free Recipe

Oatmeal glycerin soap has natural soothing properties. It is excellent for people with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis as well as anyone with chickenpox or rashes. Oatmeal glycerin soap is also gentle enough to be used on babies and children, and contains no chemicals or dyes when made at home.

  • Grate the glycerin soap into pieces with the cheese grater.

  • Combine the soap, raw honey and water in the butter melting pot and melt over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly as it melts and never let it boil, as boiling adds bubbles into the soap that will ruin its appearance.

  • Remove the soap from the stove and stir in the oatmeal.

  • Pour the soap into sturdy paper cups, filling each up completely for a round bar of soap or halfway for a puck-shaped bar.

  • Place the soaps in the refrigerator for 24 hours to completely harden.

  • Remove and store in an airtight container.
