Safe & Effective Double-Edged Razor Cleaning Guide

Cleaning your double-edged razor correctly is important because if the blade has bacteria on it and you use the razor especially on broken skin, you can get an infection. It's a simple process that will work on every type of double-edged razor. You can complete this at your home on your kitchen counter in about five minutes or less.

Things You'll Need

  • 1-gallon container
  • Bleach
  • Cloth
  • Fill the 1-gallon container with hot water. Pour one capful of bleach into the container and mix thoroughly. Use the cap that is on the bleach bottle to measure the bleach.

  • Place the double-edged razor into the bleach water and let the razor soak for one minute. Remove the razor from the water and wipe it down with a cloth.

  • Place the razor back into the bleach water and allow the razor to soak for two minutes. Remove the razor from the water and allow the razor to air dry completely. Flip the razor over as often as possible and clean up the water pool under the razor every time that you flip it.
