If you use your electric kettle, or water boiler, a lot, it will accumulate calcium deposits over time. You can clean away these white, flaky deposits in about an hour with just two household ingredients. Vinegar acts as a dissolving agent, and baking soda helps remove the strong taste and odor of white vinegar and adds an abrasive element to remove all remaining deposits.
Unplug the water boiler and ensure it is completely cool.
Add white vinegar to fill 1/3 of water boiler. Fill the remaining portion with water. Let the water boiler sit for 30 minutes.
Rinse water boiler thoroughly with water and refill approximately 2/3 full with water.
Add 2 tbsp. of baking soda to water boiler and mix until the baking soda has dissolved.
Turn water boiler on and boil water. Let the solution soak for 30 minutes and rinse.
