GE Profile Oven Self-Cleaning: Instructions & Tips

The GE Profile line of ranges and ovens offers a self-cleaning feature that enables you to avoid the use of harsh chemicals and labor-intensive scrubbing. Regular use of your GE Profile oven may result in food spills and grease splatters, leaving behind a mess on the oven floor and window. The self-cleaning feature utilizes high heat to burn away any food residue and turn it to ash.

  • Close the oven door. Press the "Self Clean" button, and select a time between three and five hours.

  • Open the oven door when the cleaning cycle is complete and the GE Profile oven is cool.

  • Wipe away any ash remnants with a damp sponge, and replace the oven racks.
